As of July 1, 2018, there are two new changes that are in place for employers and employees in the state of Oregon.  Minimum wage will be receiving an increase and there is a new tax that has begun as of July 1st as well.

Oregon minimum wage will increase as follows:

  • Standard from $10.25 to $10.75 (Yamhill County)
  • Portland Metro from $11.25 to $12.00
  • Nonurban Counties from $10.00 to $10.50

New RoadThe Oregon Transit Tax is a tax on one-tenth of one percent (0.1%) of the taxable wages prior to any deductions.  This is for all wages earned on July 1, 2018 and after.  If you are currently a user of our payroll services will begin calculating this in the same fashion as other payroll tax calculations we perform.

For more detail regarding both the increase in minimum wage and the transit tax, our blog posts New Oregon Transit Tax and Oregon Minimum Wage Increase cover both.  If you have additional questions, please give us a call today at (503) 472-0576 to see how we can help you.
